Old Export with metal hoops on bass drum... It screams 80s. I see you miss the floor tom legs.
What it miss then to start up is an hi-hat & cymbals stands and obviously cymbals.

Seriously Blake, if you have another snare to buy that can be versatile & very useful is a used Ludwig (mighty) Acrolite. You'll get one for cheap and won't believe how good they sound.

Maybe a batch of inner ply wood used by Mapex in their manufacturing plant weren't already dry enough (higher % of water) and then in an controlled environment those plies dried more and shrinked on...

It depend on the date that Mapex changed their policy, I can't remember which year, I'm sure though in 2005 they were 100% lifetime warrantied.
