That's what Jazz largely is, is improv, i.e. soloists. You gotta learn to work with a soloist instead of just being on a set path. Listening to Davis and Coltrane can help you to sort of look ahead...

Tiger Army is psychobilly man. That's punk and rockabilly mixed...that's kinda far from jazz... it's like 5th generation away from jazz, ha, good band though.
