Re: The legendary Steve Gadd.

I'd love to see SG on his own or with his own band. I saw him in May with Clapton and was not impressed. He did the bare minimum. I'm not saying that's wrong but I would have liked more from him.

Re: Happy Birthday Ginger

Seems weird that when he was with Cream (first time around) he was only 27!
40 years later and despite the arthritis he was still great for the reunion gigs though.

Re: which room should i put my drumkit in?

It may depend on whether you have neighbours. If you do putting it in the attic is going to let everyone hear it. Also is it damp up there in the winter and roasting hot in the summer? If so it may...

Re: The legendary Steve Gadd.

More great stuff.

I was surprised to see what looks like moongel on the toms. Why would that be? He doesn't normally use it does he ? - and his drums sound just great without

Re: The legendary Steve Gadd.

What about this for an awesome solo. It is just so musical. It doesn't need anyone else in it to make it listenable/watchable again and again.

Re: THE GOOD SNARE THREAD

I'm thinking about a Premier Modern Classic 14 x 5.5 in maple. What alternatives would anyone suggest? I don't want to spend more than 220 and would like to spend less if possible.

Re: Snare tuning

Thanks for that. I have checked out the DTB before but it is such a complex subject I'm pretty much baffled!

Snare tuning

I'll start with an admission - I'm no expert at tuning drums. I need a bit of help.

If I hit my toms all across the head the sound is pretty similar but the snare, with the snares off, sounds...

Re: Keith Carlock

Having been lucky enough to see him with SD a couple of weeks ago I will be seeing him again in another couple along with Omar Hakim at Drumfest in Northampton. Should be great.

It's exactly what my teacher started with me in lesson number 2. He's been drumming it in since then.

Re: Steve Jordan

I saw him on Sunday in Nottingham with EC and his band. He was fantastic. Nothing flash, no big kit with 50 cymbals and 3 bass drums, just a big solid groove all the way through.

Steve Jordan

Wow. He's a great replacement for Steve Gadd backing Clapton on his current tour.

Finn gets the prize. It was Jim Keltner on Josie. There were 6 different drummers on the album Aja.

He and Willie Weeks are the rhythm section supporting Eric Clapton on his tour. Looking forward to Nottingham in May!
