Re: Help me pick out a Black Beauty

Right on man, I've got a 6.5" with the Imperial lugs, chrome hardware, and the supraphonic snare. It sounds awesome stock, but I've done a few things to mine. I put some Puresound "Blasters" snare...

Re: Black Beauty Questions

I've got one of the B-stock Black Beauties, and I absolutely love it. I've heard the same thing about the blue/olive badges being put on all the b-stocks, but I'm not sure that its 100% true.

Mine...

Re: Indoor storm music gear

Well I purchased a pork pie throne from them, and I am very pleased. What I like about indoor storm is that they have a lotta gear that is hard to find anywhere else. I would definately recommend...

Re: Cajon players

I ended up buying a Meinl snare cajon, and it does sound pretty good. However, I think it could use a little more low end or bass tone.

I'm thinking about switching to either a "fat-congas"...

Re: dw brass vs. ludwig black beauty

Well, I've tried two Remo combinations so far. The first was a coated Remo ambassador batter with a hazy Diplomat resonant. I think I like the second combo the best which consists of a coated Remo...

Re: dw brass vs. ludwig black beauty

Thanks for the information fellow drummers; it is very much appreciated!

By the way, I forgot to ask about the original snare wires. Do any of you replace the cheap Ludwig wires with some...

Re: dw brass vs. ludwig black beauty

Ok, I decided to go with Ludwig's famous BB, and I just got it in today. I ordered the 14x6.5 model, and it really is a beauty.

Since this is my first experience with this snare, I would like to...

Re: Favorite drum or cymbal of your kit!

My favorite drum is my 69' Ludwig 13x9 tom. Its a 3-ply shell with reinforcement rings. I know it sounds weird to favor a tom, but this drum sounds amazing. It honestly is hard to get a bad sound...

Re: New Ludwig Black Beauty

Does anyone know?

I saw this hammered BB I'm talking about on ebay, so I'm not sure if he put the b/o badge on himself or if it was possibly ordered that way. I have never seen a modern one with...

Re: earbuds, headphones for practicing?

To be honest, I've never tried the Vic Firth isolation headphones, so I can't really comment. And as far as your Sony earbuds, I don't think they are the same quality as the Shures. The Shure's E3's...

Re: earbuds, headphones for practicing?

I actually use in-ear noice cancelling earphones. I have a pair of shure e3's and love em. They do a great job of reducing my drumming volume so I don't have to crank the music level. I highly...

Anyone play a 6.5x13 snare?

When it comes to wood-shelled snare drums, I normally use a 6.5x14 or 5x14 shell. Here recently, I've been thinking about getting a 6.5x13 dw maple 10+6 ply snare. I'm curious how the depth will...

Re: Cajon players

Thankyou very much. None of the music stores around here have these different models to try out, so its kinda hard deciding which one to get.

dw brass vs. ludwig black beauty

Here recently I've been looking at brass snare drums and really like the 6.5x14 DW brass and the modern ludwig black beauty (I cant afford an older one). Does anyone have any experience with these...

Re: interstatemusic.com???

Yes, they are my favorite website to buy gear from. I've been doing business with them for over six years and have never been dissatisfied. I highly recommend them.
