Re: dw Classics Series

I played one in a drumshop. They sounded really good. They were , 12tt, 14ft, 16ft ,22bd ,14sd in white marine pearl. They had $8500. on them. Good drums but not that good. For that sort of money you...

Re: any help with (tama) would be awesome

Tama Superstar kits are ok but you would be far better off getting a used Starclassic kit.The Starclassics are fantastic! Much better drums than the superstars. You can get a good used starclassic...

I saw mastodon and Brann Dailor live earlier this year. I was right up the front so I got a good view of him playing and checked his kit out also. He is an amazing drummer. He blew me away with his...

Re: Mid Range Rock Shells

If you go used, you will get a better kit. Tama Starclassics sell for reasonable prices s/h and they are a professional kit. The B/B kits sound fantastic and are built to last. Good luck.

Re: Meg White

Meg White is a great drummer! She plays without a bass player. She has great feel! She plays for the song (not herself) and do you think Jack White ( also a good drummer ) would make music with...

Re: Growing old is getting old

I am in my late 40s and I am enjoying my drumming more than when I was a kid. I play rock, blues and folk and it's all fun. I don't hit as hard as when I was a kid but I know how to get a sound out...

Re: Cymbal Angles !!

It all comes down to personal preference. It doesn't matter what angle a drummer has their cymbals at. Just as long as the drummer is having fun.
I like my cymbals angled towards me but I like the...

Re: Tama starclassic or superstar hyperdrive ?

The Starclassics are HEAPS better than the Superstars! There is no comparison. Go for the Starclassics , they sound great. You will have to sell the superstars when you grow out of them anyway. Tama...

Re: tama starclassic maple snare drum-help

Go into a store and try both of the drums. The one that sounds the best to you is the one for you. The G maple is more expensive than the starclassic. It has a thicker shell and an abalone inlay...

Re: Gretsch Maple for Gretsch Cat. Jazz

Give your smaller toms a holiday and play your kit as a 4 piece. Then you won't have to swap. They say a change is as good as a holiday. I don't know who they are but you can't go wrong with a good 4...

Re: Traits of good drummers

I think what the drummer looks like has nothing to do with it, ie; hair etc. The most important thing is Feel. Great drummers always have Groove.eg Steve Gadd. If it doesn't feel good then you may...

Re: Duct Tape on toms

Never ever use Gaff /duct tape on on any of your drums. If you learn how to tune them you will never have a problem. Don't let sound engineers put tape on them either. Any ring or overtones the drums...

Re: Yamaha Musashi or Pearl Free Floater?

I have a Pearl 14 * 6.5 brass free floater that is a good snare for loud rock music recorded or live. I think the yamaha musahi snare would be a much more versatile drum, especially in the studio....
