Re: The official, "Your services are no longer required" thread

Sorry to hear that - sucks, but it's just a corporate 're-org' essentially... it's not like you were let go for anything to do with your skills (or lack thereof) as a drummer. You got caught up in...

Re: HELP, permanent beastmode

Size doesn't matter - at least in this case.

My first thought is take a look at your technique - maybe see an instructor for a few sessions.

Your kit/cymbals are only going to get so loud,...

Re: Another "first audition" thread

Congrats - you got over the first BIG STEP... go and have fun! Sounds like a situation where they're just looking for a decent guy to hang out and fit in -- a good solid drummer would be just a...

Re: Another *&^%$# Bar Owner

You absolutely have to work with the bar/venue owners. Slugging it out at the local/regional level - we've often played a new room/new area for little or nothing just to get a foot in the door so...

Re: Totally lost

I think it does come easier to some and might be a more difficult skill to pick up for some.

1) I'd suggest you seek out a teacher for even a few lessons - a good teacher should be able to help...

Re: Who does this, really?

No Sir, don't like it... Even when I was hauling around exports I always had bags for them at least. Just because they're premium, rock solid quality drums is no reason to heap abuse upon them,...

Re: Importance of a good drum throne?

Good thrones are worth the $$ - absolutely!

I'd also recommend one with a backrest -- I've got a Tama 1st chair with a backrest, but I've used Roc 'n Soc w/a backrest and they're great as well......

Re: Tempos - Too Fast?

I have a beat bug

which works well to monitor the tempos -- it's like a trigger kinda thing attached to your snare and it picks up the back beat -- to put...
