It's easy cheap kits sound good with good heads good cymbals sound good with cheap stands and crap sticks don't break as much.butt get a Supra man.

For 3 Aussie grand i scored a 100th anniversary fab 4 Legacy kit virtually as new, a full set of K Hybrids, stands and stool, traps bag and cymbal bag. be patient and vigilant. I highly recommend not...

I agree , change the reso and while you have it off try hitting the drum without it and see what it sounds like, but most likely a better reso should do it.

A nice piece of history there John. I played a kit exactly like that for 20 odd years, loved that kit. If I remember right walnut was the only finish I could get in a 24" bass drum back then at least...

No we don't NEED expensive drums and I have been in that situation where I have had to make do with what I had.Yes my throne did collapse mid set and I played the night out in an armchair,what fun...

If you don't want your drum throne to collapse on you mid set then buy a good one. There is a lesson in that for all of us.

No. Why would you want that brittle choked out sound? I would think the snare wire setting would be more crucial, over tightening both of them is just silly . No room to move.
