Are they currently floor toms? If so, gibraltar gave me a good idea in a tech video they did to use the floor tom legs backwards, so they bend out near the bottom or top of the drum, then multiclamp...

I don't see why not with many sizes of mic pre-packs on the net now for cheap...

Take a look at samson's lineup, even with a SM57 and a D112, buying them used then suplementing them with the D112...

I see alot of modifications in the visual realm, Anyone ever cut down toms?

I have so far, built my own keller shell 5.5x14 snare, refinished that awhile back, and taken a wrap off an old 8"...

No dampening here, if you don;'t count head selection...

I use EC2's on top, G1's on bottom of toms wide open, EC Snare and Hazy 300, EMAD with large ring and wide open with a regular 7mil reso on...
