For both a big local band and a famous international band. I concur re phones too. I love my phone but theres a band playing out of basic courtesy i wont be looking at it all the time.

So im done with plugins for finished recordings. They are just not for me and i really want to get top recording drumsounds.

However most recordings i ever hear sound really amateurish and boxy....

Yeah sonar drums really sound great. Sean reinert from cynic gets similar great tones. Id highly recommend the manu katche sound on the joe satriani record.

Ok ive found that i prefer hammered steel for its slightly darker tone and focused sound in 14x5s and 5.5s. This Mapex is insanely good for 90 quid.

Hmmm i liked the supralite but mainly the 14x4 which may be slightly too piccalo sounding,even if it did project well. The 15x5 was flangy sounding and i dont like deep steel snares.
