vadrums: I stated that the quater notes would help but I also said the book should have 2 sections one with and one without the bass drum notes
This gives the student a chance to recognize these...

99% of the time the notes are written without bass note guidence reading with a band
Those bass notes can become a crutch
A drummer should identify with those syncopated notes without any help from...

The thing I don't like about this book are the bass drum notes
This makes reading the notes easier
Two sections should be in this book
With and without the bass notes
You don't see bass notes...
