Re: Yamaha Drums

Unfortunately, wild tangent card being thrown in here, Yamaha have done what many a Western manufacturer did and moved production.

It will be interesting to see how (And BTW I have used Yamaha on...

Re: Acoustic Drums VS Electronic Drum Kits

Quite a few people have mentioned this: I set my e-drums up so the centre of the pad is where the centre of the relevant acoustic drum, or for cymbals the correct edge; would be.

20 minutes and a...

Re: Yamaha identification

BachBeat, that information there is only for the 9000 Recording Custom kits.

Militant, pictures of the lugs and tom mounts may help date the drums.

This is exactly the same style and...

Just for the sake of research and all....

Re: Tips on promoting a (charity) gig - Queens of Noise at the Crypt, London

Thats interesting, from what I remember most of the six figure tax-payer paid
wasters wouldn't be seen dead north of Hillingdon.

Re: Tips on promoting a (charity) gig - Queens of Noise at the Crypt, London

Coming from Wigan and trying to promote bands in the 1980's with TW's help, I understand your cynicism mate, I really do as I understand nothing has changed.

But TAA it right, and mention...

Saved me a post there.

Drummer girl, have you played on any drums in the past? Before you splash out, it may be worth (As mentioned previously by moxman) having a lesson or two just to see if...

Re: Acoustic Drums VS Electronic Drum Kits

Sorry, but I have to disagree with this: Not only have I used an electric kit in rehearsal & recording scenarios I've also used one live, and not just in the Rush tribute act.

Admittedly, they are...

Re: Is Ringo a good drummer?

True, but we can wax lyrical for hours on how some real icons of the industry would look on todays 'music business'.

Re: Is Ringo a good drummer?

Is Ringo any good?

Single handedly made Ludwig the 'must have' kit in Europe.

I've never...

Re: using snare of different material than shellpack

I agree with the above, although I have some matching snares to kits; my three main snares used with beech, oak and maple kits over the years have been steel, brass or a maple/cherry mix.

Never...
