This happens to nearly every drummer, it sure did happened to me.

Key thing is to use a metronome and do single strokes mostly, but other rudiments will obviously be very good.

I think he really lacks creativity. Yeah he is solid, but that is because he practically plays the same standard beat for every song adding a new snare fill every now and then. It just gets boring.

I think hes great. He isnt your average metal drummer. He rarly uses double kicks and there are a lot of jazz elements in his drumming.

Chad Smith is an awesome drummer.
I recently saw a video with Flea and Chad from the chilli's. They play together for a while and gee chad can use that one kick fast. Great drummer!

Thats how i feel, his stuff is just so easy to play. I feel like im doing something wrong. I guess he is just solid and plays for the music.

I do prefur playing his older stuff with metallica...
