Re: something I am building

First off , I'm trying for something different than all of the sounds I have heard from "floating" systems. Most of the systems I have heard are very bassy or low tone sounding. I'm trying to get...

Re: something I am building

I'm trying to add a minimal amount of hardware to this drum to let the shell completely resonate. I'm avoiding the addition of extra rings as some have suggested. I was going to wait a few weeks for...

Re: something I am building

Nope. It was hard to cut, drill and tap. Yes it was wrot iron.

I want to add here and now that I was trying to find price and supply for the Wac'd hardware but was unable to locate a...

Re: something I am building

There is a small advantage in my design over Wac'd drums. The "lugs" are made from a wrot iron planter that I found on the side of the road. Because it is 1/2 square stock, it can be easily held...

Re: Is there such a thing as a 'drum jam'? Something where just drummers get together and groove?

A few years ago I decided to try this with 2 hand drummers. You have to take turns with the LEAD parts or things get out of hand. We had a signal 2 HITS to say we were done our solo.

This is one...

Re: Thoughts on YouTube Covers?

I have heard of too many covers being pulled by YOUTUBE, so my advise. Don't bother. YouTube considers them illegal.

Re: What is your main snare you gig with, and your back up snare?

My favorite snare is my vintage 70's Ludwig chrome snare. My backup is a Cadeson snare.

Re: Drums easier than other instruments?

A drummer can feel time like no other musician. They can feel a small change in timing as small as 5 ms. That is what separates a master drummer from a beginner, that discernment of small increments...
