Nice! Hope we get to see that soon. Youíve now heard it from the master. Hitting things is fun. What other excuse do you need?

Re: Gretsch drum shells- Steve Maxwell video

Now, not only Will Gretsch not ever put me on their endorser list, but sending a couple of tough guys over to take away my Brooklyns! Two failures in one post! Guess you can’t fix stupid, even if...

Re: Struggles of Short Drummer and 5-Piece with Offset Toms

Probably the tightest 2U offset setup Iíve seen recently. HH is definitely not pushed out like some. This setup has a 22Ē BD.

Re: Anyone just play drums for themselves only?

If there are guys you click with who enjoy creativity and growth, nothing is more fun...even if youíre playing cover songs. A few guys and gals Iíve played with can make instruments melt in their...

Re: Rimshots on die cast hoops

The Brooklyn 302 hoops are even higher and worked me over for a while! Those definitely take some getting used to. It was a very good exercise in technique awareness, that's for sure. A bit more...

Re: Rimshots on die cast hoops

Ha! Never say never as the saying goes. I've played around with the different hoops since this thread too, but I just dig the die cast hoops rim shots and side sticks. Don't do a ton of rim shots,...

Re: backing tracks with removable instruments ?

About the only way Iíve found drumless tracks of actual songs have been those people have EQíd drums out of. Most are not very high quality, but agreed there are some voices in particular that are...

Re: Struggles of Short Drummer and 5-Piece with Offset Toms

I’m 5’9” and fought this battle for quite a while. My biggest issue was feeling like that bird that had to return to the cage, when given freedom! I couldn’t wrap my brain around giving up my...

Re: The New Tama Starclassic Walnut/Birch

Tama has definitely been listening. Nice to see the shallower BDs in a mass produced line. Kind of a bummer though, now my set is ďcommon,Ē except For my shallower FTs...sort of like my internal...

Re: Considering these three kits. Any advice would be appreciated.

. Just for clarification...Ever since the RN2s were introduced, the Renowns have come with the Gretsch 302 hoops, so more open than RN1s or previous.

Re: Latin Percussion???

Pics? Somewhere...They definitely helped me grow, but you can transfer the same beats to a set. Takes some creativity and four limb independence, but definitely doable.

Re: Latin Percussion???

I have a djembe, bongos and congas. Not sure why I hang on to them. Used to play them in an original band for years, but every time I break them out now arthritis gets the better of me! Great choice...

Re: Review - Yamaha Tour Custom

I was surprised to see a set of these at GC. I could immediately tell they weren't Stage Customs based on the hoops and BD claws. The ones I saw were flat black. Build quality was very nice. A...

Re: Hoop comparison video from Tama

Great video. Exact opposite here. At least now I have zero doubt why I keep gravitating toward die cast! The brass would be next.

Re: PDP Snare QC question

It is exactly as it looks. Thatís totally messed up. PDP stuff for the most part is pretty solid and well made, but the every once in a while...Iíd definitely be pitching a fit with that one.
