Re: The best 13" Snare?

On the higher end would be the Sonor Benny Greb or Artist beech ( a tad shallower than you specified but the 27ply makeup will recoup the volume/crack). You may also consider a Yamaha MCA in 13". You...

Re: Sonor's build quality- not what it used to be.

Sorry about your situation Agd8. I went through a similar situation with my Q2's, so I feel your pain.

It's true, I'm sure none of those would effect the sound. At least not to the normal...

Re: sonor drums

It's hard to see the badges from the pics, but if they are '87-'90 they would be 9-ply poplar.

Re: Sonor SQ2 or DW Collector‘s? Please help!

I have a vintage maple SQ2 kit and absolutely love the sound. No choking for sure. I was originally looking at the Delite, but opted for the Q's as they were not much more money. Plus they...

Re: Which13 inch snare would you also use as a main snare?

Congrats on the purchase! Nice price.

My vote for the urge to splurge:
Sonor Artist 13" x 5" 27 ply Beech
Sonor Benny Greb Sig 13"x5.75"

Re: I wished I never sold?

Re: DW or Sonor?

DW makes some nice drums for sure, but I would not trade my Sonor kit for anything out there. Except for maybe another Sonor kit. S-Classix sound fantastic and are thin shelled birch. If you really...

Re: Gretsch Drums.... Any Good?

I've had a set of mid '80's square badges that were relevant for alternative rock, metal, funk and jazz. I absolutely loved that kit! With that said, there are many good brands to...
