Re: I have a really stupid question (cymbal topper)

This is great. Thanks!

As far as a felt on the bottom...do you take them off when you travel and maybe throw them in your stickbag or something?

I have a really stupid question (cymbal topper)

Every once in a while, I'll see a drummer mount his cymbals with no felts and no wingnuts on the top of the cymbal. When this is done, it's almost like there's plenty of room on the threaded portion...

Re: Bum Wraps?

If you've not done so already, check out the BumWrap Facebook page. The pics there seem to be much more up to date than the ones on their website (unless they've updated recently).

And just like that, I laughed out loud in a crowded computer lab.

Re: 36" kick?

Pork Pie also made one of these for NAMM a few years back.

I'd be curious as to how it sounds.

Re: Popcorn Snare suggestions

I had a 10" Pork Pie that was great, but I found that I never used it, and I ended up selling it. It sounded great.

As the others have said, I'd look into maybe getting a 13" piccolo snare and...

Re: Arthritis in Foot - Looking for Kick Drum Alternatives

I used to play a Roland Octopad years ago, and before i was able to hook it to a drum pedal, I would play the kick drum pad and the snare pad with my left hand. It actually worked really well with a...

I've used bum wrap and I'd do it again in a minute.

Re: Bent Sweet Ride - How Much Would You Pay?

I wouldn't have even made an offer. Around here, you can buy a pretty decent used ride cymbal for about $100-$120 on CL or Facebook Yardsale pages.

Boom goes the dynamite.

Buy the right tools for the job you have in front of you.

While gear can sometimes hold you back, you aren't missing out on "next level" stuff by not purchasing certain...

Here's this. Does your new tom have re-rings?

Sorry for the blurry pic.

Re: Do You Think...

AC/DC is also pre-1980s. Bon Scott died in 1980.

When I think of cult following of bands, I think of these bands as being "the first" or "one of the first" to do something and get notoriety for...

Re: DW problem

Just like GD above, how does the tom sound? Also, does the finish match?

Even if it meets both of these requirements, they messed up.

What should I expect?

When I finish playing, I either leave my...

The quick set-up time on those is pretty incredible. I really wanted a set of those years ago, but I have since gotten over it.

Re: DW Double-tom mount on shallow bass drum

Have you ever played a 12x20 DW kick? As someone said, the FF drums have this kick. I'm not fond of it. Going from a 12" depth to a 14" depth makes a lot of difference IMO.

What are your drumming-related quirks?

Someone started another thread about how he's sort of quirky about pedals matching and/or even hardware matching. This got me to thinking...what are some people's quirks related to drumming? Do you...
