Re: Can anyone tell me...

Sweet taste man, I love finding post's about music I dig haha Intervals is awesome.
Anup always follows a similar ghost note pattern when he moves his left hand to the floor tom. So I mean, if you...

Re: question to bass drum slide technique users

The only thing that makes them identical is that they're both doubles or "diddle" techniques. I was saying you can use the slide technique for rlrl quadruplets and not as doubles and it would feel...

Re: question to bass drum slide technique users

Yeah the reason heel toe is such a disadvantage, I mean yeah you can learn to coordinate them for unnecessary reasons, but just stick with heel up/whatever standard technique. The slide technique is...

Re: Open Hand technique

In my opinion open handed playing is really only for comfortability. I started getting into it because it's a lot easier to hit rimshots and a crash on your left (without scraping knuckles/crossing...

Re: mydrumlife review?

Then use a metronome for structure xD

Honestly for educational stuff pick up a DVD instead of getting lost in YouTube's vast amount of inaccurate information. Benny Greb's videos are so...

Re: Hello! Need help with studio gear decisions

Welcome to the forum!
I say go for the Scarlett (2i2) I hear those are really worth the money. As for the drums, I'd say stick with programming. I mean an e kit can be good for dynamics, and then...

Re: mydrumlife review?

Anything on YouTube will lead you to something interesting. Try looking up some of Mike Johnston's lessons/tips videos out of the hundreds that he has, you'll find something educational for sure. I...

Re: Now this is what I call (linear) grooving!

Sick beats, none of that over complicated stuff.

You should, it's fairly economical and productive.

Re: A silly question about starting the metronome

Depends on what your practicing/playing. If your just warming up by doing some eights I'd say 100-120 is a good start. Sometimes 120 is too much when my hands are stiff or it's cold out. For faster...

Re: Drumming without shoes - caution

I take my shoes off before every show. Less friction, more sliding, more freedom. My leg doesn't stiffen up and I get more use from technique/ankle work.
Cons: holes in my socks, have to play hot...

Re: Is Tama a Bad Company?

My bad, hard to follow when there we're so many Hoshinos. I knew that was the last name, but typed Hoshino Gakki because that's what I read (internet always lying to me)
Ok, a company ,Hoshino...

Re: Lovers of metal drumming ...

Sick stuff! Sick set up too! Those chops are really clean except 2:04 was sort of ehh but I'm sure they'll just re-punch that in. Besides the drumming, the solo was pretty cool near the end as well.

Re: How to think of these groove

Eight's** not sixteenths. I told him to count in quarter notes so that the ghost (stack) notes don't interfere with counting the main rhythm. if they really are counting in 8/8 it's because the riff...
