Re: Back to the future!

You need to be able to discern what a 'quality' kit is. Sound is subjective, didn't mention sound. If a quality kit is perceived as making it easier to get a good sound, one would think that's a...

Re: Deep bass drums

Should be easy to cut down.

Here's the BD lift I use people, thumbs up. Yes, getting your pedal off the BD rim produces a more pleasing feel IMO, sound is noticeably affected too.

Re: Yamaha Stage Custom Birch

20 BD - 8 lugs

You had two kits with 18" bass drums?

The 14" FT has 6 lugs, but the only drummers who would notice are the drummers who've had the actual drum and tuned it. Virtually...

Re: Worst expensive snare you've ever owned?

Just post a pic of the drum here on DRUMMERWORLD, we'll tell ou if the lugs are pot metal, or not.

The OPs question is 'Worst 'expensive' snare drum....' Why would anyone buy an 'expensive' snare...

Re: Worst expensive snare you've ever owned?

LUDWIG won't change, they're banking it off the unseen legacy of the cheapness.

It would improve the sound IMO.

Re: Aluminum snare 14 inch die cast hoops

The seller is open to questions, I'd ask what alloy it is.

1000 series are essentially pure aluminium with a minimum 99% aluminium content by weight and can be work hardened.

2000 series...

Re: Aluminum snare 14 inch die cast hoops

Re: Deep bass drums

And put you being the beat in the mix, which might not be a bad thing in certain situations.

Its true, longer BD's take longer to react, the difference between an 14 deep and an 18 is...

Re: Fly Like an Eagle (Steve Miller Band)

My advise is anything you find on Jo Ph's YouTube channel (if you want to reference it later) should be recorded.

Jo Ph had a ton of content up on the last outing and they shut the channel down......

Re: Does adding this Tom make sense?

Discontinued 'might' still be able to be ordered. Is it a wrap, or lacquer?

I've ordered discontinued lacquer finishes from GRETSCH bf, you'll pay and wait. If one is doing this with a fade, or...

Re: The needless debate over drum construction and the misguided search for undo drum resonance

Re: The needless debate over drum construction and the misguided search for undo drum resonance

Ok, lets take the 'other' drummer out of the equation. You, you sit behind a kit, play it and it sounds whatever. Now you change sticks, from wood tip to nylon, the kit sounds different, now change...

Re: The needless debate over drum construction and the misguided search for undo drum resonance
