Re: Sonor force 2007/3007 ?

They are not discontinued, they were replaced by the new Select Force (for replacing the 3007) and the Essential Force (for replacing the 2007). They keep the finish of the 2007/3007 and add some new.

Re: Black Panther Cherry Bomb, or Fastback?

If you want something different I would go with the Fastback. More depth, more body.

Re: Changing tastes

The best is to have two kits for two different feel and sound.

A more big kit for Rock and heavy style(Like a 6 piece Force 2007 that I like)
And a little jazzy kit (Like a Sonor Safari that I...

Re: Sonor Force 2007 vs 3007 vs Gretsch 2010 Catalina Maple?

The hardware is a good point. Hardware Pack 200 is doing the job well but not much. The bass pedal is great, boom stands too, but the hi hat stand is not so great.

Re: Sonor Force 2007 vs 3007 vs Gretsch 2010 Catalina Maple?

I've only played a Force 3007 at my local music store. Decided to go with the 2007 because liked the sound better (more punch) and the finish too(got the blue fade) and it was cheaper here in Canada....

Re: Sonor Force 2007 vs 3007 vs Gretsch 2010 Catalina Maple?

I have to say, I LOVE my force 2007. It sounds warm and punchy with just enough resonance. I'm waiting my 8" tom to arrive.(have 10, 12, 14, 22 setup)

Re: Gretsch Catalina or ddrum Diablo?

18" bass drum are not the most versatile. I'll choose a 20" or 22" if you are into rock, hardcore.

Re: Pearl Or Mapex!!!

VX is Birch/Basswood
Meridian Birch is 100% birch

Compare Meridian Birch with a Pearl Vision VBX. Two different sound. I would personally go with the Meridian Birch or a Sonor Force 2007.

Re: Having trouble with 8" and 16" tom tuning

Wait you've put emperor on all the reso side of your toms? It's normal to have problem with tuning your 8" and your 16":

The 8" is chocked by the 2 ply on the reso, there is not enough movement of...

Re: Beginner set

The Yamaha is a good kit to start, it can sound really good. The other two I find it two limited for a long time use.

Re: Having trouble with 8" and 16" tom tuning

Hi,

You should play with different type of heads. I would try an ambassador on the 8" tom it will open it(And don't forget the reso head).

For the 16", you should put a more muffled head if you...

Re: Yamaha Stage Custom Vs. Tour Custom

Force 3000 are really nice drums. I saw one on this forum with a beautiful Scandinavian finish! I don't think you'll have problems for the tuning, Sonor are great quality kit.

Re: Ludwig shells vs. Sonor shells?

Sonor 3007 bass drum loves to breath. Powerstroke3 on the batter and reso with no muffling.
