what about just 10ply maple shells all around without reinforcement rings..with tube lugs and die cast hoops.? thank you for the input. you're really helping me in my decision making. but that info...

i'm ordering the shells from keller shells drum company. i am having them created at resurrection drums down in hollywood, florida (my boy cam'). i've heard good and bad concerning reinforcement...

changed from remo emperors batters, clear ambassadors reso to aquarian response 2 batters, classic clear bottoms. i've done all i can with this tom. i think imma just burn the shell..

i'm rehearsing last night on my set (mapex saturn walnut/birch) and i'm hitting my 12" TOM, but deadness comes out every freaking time. i've tuned it over and over again. i've changed heads...

that's what i thought. now they do have the 10ply shells at 6.7mm per but i think that would be too much..i'mma probably go with the 8ply shells for toms and 10ply for the bass drum.

what up..well first things first..i would definitely change from remo pinstripes. imo these heads are probably the worse of them all. they are known for sounding very dry, almost paperlike...maple...

just picked up a saturn birch/walnut exclusive from rezdrums in hollywood last week..i have to admit, great sounding drums..i've gone through so many from: tama bubinga, yamaha absolute nouveau...
