Re: dixon zombie kit in Frankfurt

I got a Dixon Demon which is their intermediate kit from what I take on it. It originally cost 700 USD if I remember correctly on Musicians Friend. It's a nice sounding kit so I'm assuming if they...

Re: VERY IMPORTANT BUT MANY TIMES FORGOTTEN

Re: Here, Take My Tama!

Ooh a swingstar, I have a wooden version of that snare. I'd love to hear how the metal version sounds....if only I had the money. Hope the auction goes well for you, man. What kind of snare are you...

Re: The most distinctive drummers

I can agree with almost everyones post up to this point. I'm just wondering, where's Carter Beauford at? He is phenomenal behind a set, just listen to Funny The Way It Is by Dave Matthews Band....

Music Institutes

I've been playing drums for 6 years now and I wouldn't consider myself bad in any means but I feel like I could be alot better if I just had some direction. So with that said, I've been thinking...

Re: Mounting toms up side down?

If you're thinking about getting RIMS do it, they give it some sustain and after playing my drums with suspended toms i can't imagine playing them with toms mounted directly to the shell.

But to...

Re: HEEL DOWN BASS DRUM

This was the problem for me when I started out, along with my feet being a bit spastic behind the set due to being anxious about kick timing, but that doesn't seem to be your problem.

Bob is...

Question 'bout triplet excercises.

First off, I'm a self-taught drummer that's taken/takes tips from more advanced drummers in my area and checks out video tips online when I've hit a rut, so I'm use to going over and over certain...

Re: New Kit soon!

3K to spend on shells alone, I'd probably go for those Tama Bubinga sets....those things have always made me drool, soundwise and finish.

Re: The purpose of the second crash

Some cymbal companies like Sabian make cymbal models with different weights ranging form a thin/crisp crash, to a thicker and heavier crash. I usually set up two cymbals (one on my left another on my...

Re: The right method of teaching a left handed kid

this seems reasonable to me. i mean later on when he's older and has his own kit yea it'll be a little different at first when he sets it up but then again maybe not. atleast with this choice you're...

Re: What are your latest focuses?

My main focus now after spending five years in my basement jamming with my two brothers is to start gigging. We've written a couple originals and got some ideas of a couple covers we'd do. Only...

Re: new Sonors

You got a good start out kit man, especially cymbals, Xs20's aren't bad at all for entry-level.

Try TAMA branded factory cymbals for your first cymbal set lol. I thought they were good at the time...

Refurbishing an Aluminum snare

I found an old aluminum snare that one of my dad's friends had given me awhile back and for not being a labeled snare it sounds rather well, personally. It's cosmetics on the other hand need a touch...

Re: Sealing a hole in a kick drum

I just like the look of a virgin kick, personally. A mount coming out of the kick just looks ugly to me, I don't like it at all. And kicks, to me, should be left alone like the rest of the drums; not...

Sealing a hole in a kick drum

I'm thinking about buying a Gretsch Catalina Maple set for my birthday but the only thing halting me from purchasing is that the 10" and 12" toms are mounted ON THE KICK. Before I purchase I am...
