I have the same problem with a 5" Supra snare I recently bought off e-bay and which I want to convert into a Super Sensitive drum (have all the parts to do it with)...but rather than have the shell...

Hey, I also got a set of them Pearl extended Free Float snare wires for the '83 Tama drum and work much better than the 16" Gibraltar set I bought before remembering about the former! Are cheaper too...

By the way...last year had John Riolo build me a pseudo Ludwig (couldn't bring meself to pay $700+ for a real one!) 10x10 tom finished with silver sparkle...

Have a 5x14 Supra that dates back to 1964...the year I bought a Ludwig Down Beat kit.
The Supra was equipped with the so-called "baseball bat" muffler, but round knob types can also be found on both...

If 6' or taller am sure you'll do just fine with a 24" BD and toms adjusted as you like and feel more comfortable with....

They look fantastic (like Ludwig's Black Beauties do, imho), are built like the proverbial tank, have excellent...
