Re: Question about push-pull technique

I consider open/close to be the same as push/pull.

I believe it is ergonomically benificial to do accents on the push and pulling all non accented notes.

Ever think about how coll it would be to replace in-store pianists with in-store drummers?

You are in you favorite department store and in the background instead of some watered down piano cover of Autumn Leaves you hear the tribal beat of drums.

Re: What sticking do you use?

Assuming just hands there are 2^11 or 2048 possible hand patterns.

Here are all 2048:

('L', 'L', 'L', 'L', 'L', 'L', 'L', 'L', 'L', 'L', 'L')
('L', 'L', 'L', 'L', 'L', 'L', 'L', 'L', 'L',...

Re: What are the stories behind famous drummers kits?

I was going to say since the beginning of drum sets, but those cymbals were all that size. The concept of a splash with larger cymbals is what I think the intent was.

How many RPMs could you withstand from a spinning drum riser and still be able to play?

I've only seen Lars have a spinning riser and I don't think it was going too fast.

What is the most unintelligible instruction given to you by a music director?

Has a leader said things to you like, 'Make boom boom' and nothing else?

"Hit the flat thing?"

"What is that drum called sitting between your legs?"
