Re: Buddy Rich on Bonham
It is a negative connotation. Don't take it as truth just because Nutha said it. I've never heard/read anywhere where that comment was construed as positive.
When Keith heard who Page had hired...

Re: John Bonham
I haven't seen that first interview in years. Those two had been friends for years and years. He was John's guest at the Melody Maker awards in 1976. John was nervous about the interview, and was...

Re: John Bonham Fans
It's 12x15. The tom was first placed on a Ludwig Atlas snare stand but later he added a Roger's Swivo Matic tom-mount while still keeping the snare stand there for support.
Green sparkle was...

Re: Bonham's right foot - how did he do it?
What's impressive about Bonzo, is that he was doing it 40 years ago, ever since the mid 60's. Other than the occasional advice he seeked out, he could've developed that all by himself. He was doing...

Re: Buddy Rich on Bonham
Kathy took Buddy to thier last concert in 1973. July 29th, 1973, Madison Square Garden. Yep, the same concert in The Song Remains the Same.
I highly doubt that Kathy Rich had backstage access,...

Re: Buddy Rich on Bonham
I think of Buddy playing in front of maybe a thousand people, in a small club somewhere in Idaho. I think of Bonzo playing in front of 75,000 people at the Pontiac Silverdome.
Imagine yourself as...

Re: John Bonham
The Beatles were great, blah blah blah. The fact remains, the Beatles did not influence Led Zeppelin musically. Thier first two albums should prove that. Blues, anyone? I'd list thier infuences,...

I agree with everything you said except the Beatles part. The Beatles didn't start anything.

I told everyone that a long time ago. I have recordings of Bonzo from 1966 and 1967 with his good 'ole bass triplets.

Re: John Bonham
To my knowledge, Bonzo was very protective of his snare for some reason. I guess he didn't want anyone stealing his tuning secrets or something.
I have no idea the answer to your question. Sorry.

Re: John Bonham
I personally think In My Time of Dying is Bonzo's greatest work.
Watch Jimmy Page's right hand during the "machine gun fire". ;)

Re: A treat for John Bonham fans
Most of the 1973 soundboards were literally stolen from Jimmy Page's vault in his house by a disgruntled maid. He does collect bootlegs. This track can be heard on the DVD. I forget where, but...

A treat for John Bonham fans
June 21st, 1977 is generally considered by Led Zeppelin fanatics and bootleg collectors as one of Led Zeppelin's all time best live performances. 1977 is generally known among LZ heavyweights as a...

Re: Bonham on Bonham - a new book is coming.
If I was to write a script about a dead member of one of the world's biggest rock and roll bands ever, I would probably want the blessing of the three remaining member's, and possibly want them...

Re: Bonham on Bonham - a new book is coming.
Now all we need is the Led Zeppelin movie. Peter Grant wrote a script in the late 80's, early 90's and shopped it around to studios for years, and it was never green-lighted. The idea of the movie...
