Do a search, there are many threads like this one that have already been made a while back.

Re: Just out of curiosity, has anyone ever actually played the Yamaha Washi kit?

Thanks Karl!

I think it's a beautiful design, great artwork... it's just not suitable to put on a drum. I bet it'd look great as a tapestry or something, but it should stay that way!

Re: Just out of curiosity, has anyone ever actually played the Yamaha Washi kit?

Oh, I'm not planning on buying the kit, I'm fine with my Visions for now :)

I was just curious as to why it had never sold, but you guys cleared that up. You're right, Japanese artwork isn't for...

Re: Just out of curiosity, has anyone ever actually played the Yamaha Washi kit?

Oh I know, I googled it already. I was curious as to people's first-hand experiences with it, if any.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone ever actually played the Yamaha Washi kit?

This thing is almost legendary... one of these has been on display at my music store for over three years now, and I've seen another kit at a different drum shop, also been there a long time. Is...

Re: Tama vs Ddrum

I'm sorry... no... there is no way a ddrum kit is or has ever been made with the same level of expertise and high craftsmanship that Pearl puts into their Masters series. You're deluding yourself if...

Re: Bass drum depth

20" deep kicks are mostly for a nicer visual appearance; the sound will not sound too too different, save for some possible unwanted resonance. Slap an EMAD on it and you'll be fine... although you...

Re: If I had $3,000

To custom order your configuration consult your dealer, they'll be able to give you a quote and order it for you.... the only two things I would keep in mind about special order kits...

1) Wait...

Re: If I had $3,000

I think your big kit looks awesome, and I'd definitely get on the second big kit bandwagon :) I think the best bang for your buck in a large kit like the one you have would be...

Pearl Masters...

Re: Help My Tom Angles!

This. I said hacksaw just in case you didn't have a pipecutter handy... I assume you have a hacksaw somewhere :) But yes a pipecutter would work great (better than a hacksaw haha)

Re: Help My Tom Angles!

I see what your problem is! It's not your toms, it's your tom arms. Judging from the pics in your signature, they're too long.

Those tom arms aren't meant to be on a rack, they're supposed to go...

Re: Two ports on the kick?

I believe this is what the OP is talking about; personally I don't think it contributes that much to the sound per say besides making it punchier, but it sure does look cool haha

Re: New Drums!

Hmm.. can't say I would have done the same, but it sounds great, anyway! At least the finishes will match for the most part, and in the end, a drum's a drum. I would recommend, though, matching...

Re: Intermediate drums + Pro cymbals = decent sound?

Always the way to go if you can't afford $3000 shells! I play a Pearl Vision VBX with Sabian HHX cymbals, and to be honest it fits my needs perfectly! I think with some small upgrades to the...

Re: Wood hoops on Acrylic?

I know Moe Carlson of Protest the Hero used an acrylic Udrum snare with Yamaha style wood hoops on PtH's album, Kezia. From what I can hear (it obviously sounds amazing because of the micing) but it...

Re: Add on Toms for Ddrum Dios?

I wouldn't count on ddrum not supplying you with add-on drums; say what you want about them, their lower end kits may not be great but they will (from what I've heard) accommodate add-on requests. ...

Re: New Mapex BP Snares - Worth the Cost?

I think this new line of Black Panthers will do wonders for Mapex's already superb reputation. I think with models like the Sledgehammer, they took an aggressive drum and made it absolutely...

Re: Difference between PDP MF and X7?

Nah, the reason isn't because of the wood, it's the same Asian maple they're using in China and Mexico, it's the production quality, the X7s are made in the same factory DW used to make their higher...

Re: The Best Drum Brands In Order Are????

This seems like a really pointless thread...everyone's got different preferences.

You can't just make an absolutely judgement, because different companies do different things better than others.

Tama Starclassic
Gretsch New Classic
Sonor S-Class
Mapex Saturn

PERSONALLY, I would go with either of these:
