Re: Name that rhythm

Another good example of the flat tire is Elvis' I Forgot to Remember to Forget. Cool tune.

Re: Name that rhythm

I'd like to add the songo to the list. One of the few or only latin grooves invented for the drumset. It's fun to play and not overly complex. It's basically linear which makes the coordination a...

Re: hi hat dis-assembly

I disassemble it because I've been using a gym bag with wheels for my hardware. Everything fits but the hi-hat is of course too long so I don't have a choice. No big deal.

Back in my "band in a...

Re: The matching snare

Both my main kits have the matching snare and they were bought separately so it's 100% intentional. I like the look when everything matches but they both happen to sound great as well.

A...

Re: We're not copying Travis Barker

I personally hate flat toms but people can set up however they like. To each their own.

Travis Barker gets way too much attention, good and bad.

Re: Do you ever stand back from your drums...

All the time, bro. I'm kinda doing it right now as I have a kit set up in my living room right in front of me. Damn, that's a nice kit.

Re: what's the effect of central lugs on the sound

Do you mean a lug that's affixed to the shell with one screw? That might be a problem but that's not the case with the drums mentioned in the OP. If that's not what you meant, think of all the snare...

Re: Real Ludwigs?

They look genuine to me. If it's a fake it's a damn good one. The lugs, brackets, spurs, and claws are definitely Ludwig. Very nice kit.

Re: Ludwig Club Date for $499

Yes that's correct. I have no trouble getting it at the height that I like and it's stable enough.

Re: Ludwig Club Date for $499

I believe the Accent uses the same spur with a different bracket. A small round bracket as opposed to the classic Ludwig bracket. A small difference but basically the same system.

Re: Ludwig Club Date for $499

From the photos I've seen they're not the same. The CD is two Ludwig classic brackets with a bent 3/8" spur. The Signet appears to be one piece that swings down but has no height adjustment. Let me...

I better not use a floor tom in case I lose a leg.

Re: Ludwig Club Date for $499

Dude, I put in my hardware bag. I won't lose them. I've never lost anything in 30 years of playing and a thousand gigs. I don't sweat the small stuff.

Re: Microscopic damage! Grrr!

If it has the rectangular Yamaha badge it could be an old Tour Custom from the 80's. If so worth salvaging unless there's shell damage.

Re: Ludwig Club Date for $499

You've never seen gull wing spurs before? It's not as if Ludwig invented them two years ago. You don't like 'em, don't use 'em. Simple. I like 'em fine.

Re: Ludwig Club Date for $499

Oh jeez, that's what I do. Takes 2 seconds and they work fine. People complain about the stupidest shit.

And they're not the same as the Signet spurs.

Re: Converting double-tom holder to single

I use to have this holder. Just remove the top wing nut, pull off the left arm and that's it. It will still have the threaded post sticking up but it will be a single tom holder. This is nuts and...
