I only take JAZZ gigs with guys that play REALLY GOOD, otherwise I donīt play, the ammount of money is secondary, īthough, of course I donīt play for free.

The book has plenty mistakes in all the editions but thatīs not one of them, you see, 8 thirtyseconds fit in a quarter note + 1 eighth = 9 notes.

You donīt seem to own the book, you spell the authorīs name wrong, I noticed this mistake often in lot of people and canīt imagine OWNING a printed issue and making it...sorry I always wanted to ask...

I think this answer is the correct one to your question, I will add another reason no one (I think) mentioned why is so important to do YOUR OWN transcriptions, many (if not most)...

I disagree...

They played the fragment twice, each time was different:

First time: 7/8 - 7/8 - 11/16 (aka 5 and a half) - 7/8 - 12/8
Second time: 7/8 - 7/8 - 5/8 - 7/8 - 12/8

I practice ideas, fills, concepts, but it's mostly just short fragments. I never practice fills to be played COMPLETLY on the bandstand...
