Well- Dw and other makers claim that tung oil helps to seal the wood and protect it from time and also that it helps the vibrations dive down the shell for more wood tone?!?!
I dont know for real-...

HIya, you would need headphones with a good range- I have a great pair of in ears- with 10-22K range- a headphone distribution amp, so you could control the volume also. Only trouble is you will need...

Here they are- these are pics of the 10 inch tom, showing the vertical grain inside and out- also the great patterning visible- these will look great with a grain highlight stain and sunburst...

The shells are being made by a guy in the UK, Alan Tocknell...He has been makin drum shells for a while now and the shells will all be VERTICAL grain Birch!
The finish on the drums will done...

Building a custom kit!

Hi all!
I have decided after years wanting- to begin a build, The kit will be a 6 piece Birch set, here are the specs!

10" x 6.5"
12" x 7.5"
13" x 10"
14" x 12"

Really on Ebay mate you should be able to pick up a decent used Pearl Export on that money and have some change for cymbals maybe!
They are an ideal kit and wont be outgrown in a hurry- as they are...
