I'm afraid I cannot.

Impossible just picking one and leaving the others out would almost be an injustice, given how much they have inspired me personally.

No harm done I guess?

Re: Who inspires you the most?

Can't pick just one

In my early years Steve White, first introduced me to tasteful/musical playing. Currently studying with him every so often these days which is cool.

Then I obsessed over...

Re: Should I Do It?

I'd do it to let off some steam for one night for a couple hours, a break from studying may well help you to relax/take some off the pressure.

But that's me, it sounds like your gut is telling...

Re: Bad gig, good learning experience.

I had something similar at our last gig funny enough come to think of it.

In the bands studio that afternoon I cranked my snare up real tight (normally play mid tension with this band) and it felt...

Re: What's your process for coming up with drum grooves for songs?

I listen to the various elements, the song structure in general, get that foot locked in with the bass guitar, the rhythm guitar, keys…etc

At times even the vocal phrasing- Then you have the...

Re: Unreliable band members

Unreliable band members? Never, I'm not having that- there's no such thing.

; )

I could moan all day but I'll save you all the hassle of having to read it. Haha.

Re: Bad gig, good learning experience.

I'd cross this off as one to forget and one for "Character Building" lol

Frustrating they happen but we all have a bad gig at times, down to many different fators and most out of our hands, which...

Re: Rudiments

Practising your Rudiments will help a great deal, in terms of getting your hand/wrist strengh up but they wont be the desisive factor in achieving your goal.

That factor will be you/your playing...

Re: You and your practice regimen, come clean

It's just what I call matched. No fancy new sticking I'm afraid, could shift some DVDs if so.

When I can really

Busy patch at the moment so until recently it was an hour on the pad each weekday evening and then a few hours on the kit at the weekends working on Advanced Techniques for the...

Re: Matched Grip vs. Traditional Grip: Pro's and Con's?

I play both.

Switched to traditional about 6 months ago and it feels really comfortable at home and in rehearsals, at gigs I go back to modern to get some extra power.

I find both very...

Re: 1 up, 2 down - opinion on FT sizes

I have a kit with 14 and 16 floor toms and another kit with 16 and 18

Much prefer the versatility you get with a 14 and 16. If you're in a rock band then you can't go wrong with a 16 and 18 but it...

Re: Instructional books....hard copy or eBook??

I've tried both.

Much prefer books though as I can add notes with a pencil to each exercise, which I quite often do.

Quite tricky if viewing a PDF on a tablet.

Re: Wilcoxon Modern Rudimental Suggestions?

Great book, currently making my way (if slowly) through it also.

I've started from the beginning but I've nipped forward to sections at times.

Great workout!

Re: Some Drum Workshop love!

I wouldn’t say I was a hater but I was never a fan of their drums (loved the hardware and pedals) until I bought a set the other week and it sounds fantastic.

Not one of the 'brands' that I ever...

Re: A lesson from a master: Steve Gadd

Gutted I couldnt make this event, was worth it just to see S.White and P.Cater but to see Gadd also in the flesh? Wow, a real treat.

Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the insight into the evening.
