Re: Paying gig

I let all other bands I sub with know that I have ONE main band and if that main band calls, even at the last minute. I have to go.

So far, there have been very few scheduling conflicts and there...

Re: Which drum throne to buy?

Your agreement isn't needed, it's a FACT that the pricing is scandalous, I worked for YEARS in the furniture business, and the prices are usually FAR above cost, not just "let's make a decent living"...

Re: Studio annoyance; venting! proceed with caution!

Engineers, Soundmen, ALL people behind the boards have NO CLUE what YOU want to sound like, they ONLY know what THEY want you to sound like.

Of course, if THAT'S why you HIRED them/him/her, then...

Re: A little worried about upcoming gig with new band...

When at the gig, RELAX, be loose and don't get tense, keeping your wits about you so if you DO miss the changes you'll be able to cover. It's really not a big deal if you cover well.

If you get...

It MIGHT be just "his style" and seriously, unless you're heading for a fight you might just wanna back off and let him do...

Re: Alternative to a drum key?

Adjustable Crescent Wrench
I KNOW it works as I have one in my tool kit on gigs, it won't strip or ruin the keyrods and they're readily available.

Also, you MIGHT be able to find a small open...

Re: Cart or carry?

I'd LOVE to have a cart, it wouldn't be applicable for EVERY gig, but for most it would work well. I just don't have the cash to get a good one yet.

Re: Reasonable Set Of Practice Cymbals

Buy some used or cracked cymbals for ridiculous cheap cash, tone isn't a consideration at a rehearsal, unless you are trying to impress the bass player or something.
