I finally got the riser thingy right, it turns out that I had the pedal latched on it the wrong way [slaps forehead], now its really solid! Thanks for all the help!

Abraham Laboriel uses a setup like yours , what he did was take a lefty double pedal and place the kick drum to the left, thus allowing the snare, hi tom and low tom to be tight, kinda like this:

I do believe the next trend to hit will be interesting.
One trend I have noticed is 8x14 sized snare drums in a myriad of shell materials, thats cool.
