Re: This drumset is very weird

Like poop, most likely. Well, I'm sure the toms sound good, like any other Keller shells. But the bass and snare I just can't imagine sounding good.

By the way, this isn't meant as a rag on...

Re: What are these lugs?

Ya know, that doesn't really sound like a bad idea. I'm not too concerned about the way this kit looks at the moment anyway. Eventually I'd like to rewrap it, but for the time being, I gotta get me...

Re: What are these lugs?

Thanks for the info, Mind_Drummer. Out of curiosity, how on earth did you know that?

My only concern right now is that the overall length of the lugs is going to be too much to fit onto the 10"...

What are these lugs?

So, I bought these lugs really cheap a while back on ebay. The seller didn't know what brand or model they were. I just bought a couple Remo Acousticon shells, again on ebay, that have the same lug...

Re: Olive Ash swirl Kit

The what?!?! Man, I really hate to see such beautiful wood covered up. They look beautiful as they are. What are they underneath the veneer? Keller?

Also, can I ask where you got the veneer in...

Re: Anyone interested in building their own snare?

Unix,

I forgot to ask this in the PM, but maybe some people here would be interested to hear your response. How thin can you go on a stave snare before you need to apply re-rings?

Re: Anyone interested in building their own snare?

I know I said I didn't have the money, but I think the Allstar shell I have will have to wait a little. Unix, I just sent you a PM on Ghostnote regarding the Cherry shell.

Re: Anyone interested in building their own snare?

Ahh, if only I had the money. I saw the deals on the GN page, but at this point in time, my money has to go towards other things (hardware for Allstar aluminum shell, new kit, new cymbals!)

Shouldn't you be asking your teacher what he means?

Re: Help! Metal Drumming. Challenge Wanted.

*smacks forehead*...I'll stay out of this one.

Anything by Gene Hoglan or Richard Christie is perfect.

Re: What will be the most sought after drums 40 years from now?

My current CB kit will be the most sought after, because I'll be the most famous/best drummer in 40 years. Also, I will be president of Earth.

Re: steel vs. maple snares

Most of the reviews are for exotic woods, but there's a Carbon Fiber on the bottom of page 1 and a copper on page 3.

Re: First Band Practice!

Haven't there been like 3,495,129 bands named "Pariah"?...Yep, there's about 150 of them on myspace. The one I was thinking of I think was on some god-awful reality show, I think trying to get on...

Re: Panama City and Latin Music!

I really wish I would have went to see some bands, but I didn't. I did, however, see this spider:

I lold at the "bong set up".

How was the rest of the trip? I assume you did the obligatory touristy things- Panama Canal, La Ciudad Antigua, etc? Were you in the city the whole time? I'm really...

Re: What is your Double Bass Drums speed ??

You do know we're talking about 16th notes, right? As in four (4) hits per beat.

Re: What is your Double Bass Drums speed ??

I can do 16ths at around 180 bpm, but I've only been playing drums for 1 year, 7 months. At that speed, the volume drops kinda low, though. It's still usable, just a little quiet. I play a...

Re: How to practice single/double stroke rolls?

Screw that. It's all about the 512th notes.

But yeah, you just have to put in the time and effort and practice dilligently. It's not as fun as playing with your band, but it will make playing...

Re: Blah Blah Blah! 10-12-14-16, 10-12-14-16

I'm just using the standard 12-13-16 toms right now, but my next kit will be 10-13-15-18. I might skip the 10" though; I haven't decided yet.

Re: I have a problem :(

I like this one best.

"Here, I got you these. See ya."
*plays drums*

On second thought, maybe an electric kit would be better.

Re: Where do you gig?

Mostly clubs/bars. The occasional party. One time, in this guy's field near the ghetto...

We really need to get more gigs. It's been a few months since we've played live.

I have a Gibraltar Avenger that I got off ebay for pretty cheap. It feels really nice for the price. The only thing is that the left pedal lags a bit.

I don't have much experience with any of...

I've never played that kit, so I don't really know about it, but I noticed it was from the Sacramento Craigslist and wanted to say "hi" since I live in Auburn.

Do you need cymbals too, or just...
