I don't have either hoop tightened down tight. I guess if the claw is square I will leave the square side out?

So the Taye hook is squared which leads me to believe the flat side would face away from the drum? curved end toward the head collar?

I had my old 1971 Slingerland rehabbed about 12 years ago. Had a Yamaha YESS mount on tom and bass drum. Worked out great. No more rack, now it mounted n the bass.

Hi,

Yes, at least to my ears on a big outdoor stage with limited mics. I guess I am just used to the Oak drums. on't get me wrong the tours sounded real good just didn't have the oomph
