Re: Camco Oaklawn drums: ringing lugs

Drum Factory Direct has chrome over brass hoops, although I don't think they are the taller hoops that Camco & Rogers used back in the 60's.

Re: Theater gig again...

Very cool Al, congrats on the call back. Are you just being given a lead sheet or is there an actual percussion score?

Re: Mount Rushmore of Drumming: What does it look like?

DED, true dat. Sorry I was speaking to the bass drum being played with a pedal, not being recorded. This being a drumming forum and not a recording forum ;)

Re: I just acquired this 1950 Gretsch Bop Kit

Congrats Bob, looking real nice. I have a set of drums that came with earthtone heads on them. Loved them, the heads were very warm & focused. Beware letting anyone sit in on your drums with them...

Always one of my go to guys when I want to go to another plane/head space. There was a drummer acquaintance of mine who had wrangled a lesson from Tony, when I asked him for some pearls of wisdom...

Re: Guru kit with In-Tense snare vid. High and ultra high tunings.

WOW! Larry I realize your vid was to showcase the snare tuning range, but damn man that bass drum, it sounds absolutely freakin' amazing, I expected it to have balls from what we heard with 20"x12"...

Re: Identify this snare please!

O.K. so you're saying it's not a Ford drum? I said the lugs look to me like Ford drums meaning it looks like a ford snare drum. I was not questioning where the OP's or Ford's lugs were coming from...

Re: floor tom mounted cymbal arm ?

Re: I Don't Want A Round Badge Kit

+1 on that Larry. I addition to the mount Gretsch RB's, the floor tom legs are almost completely straight, & the leg brackets were so shallow the the legs actually made contact against the bottom...
