depends on the condition of the drums, my friend has a pearl forum set, they're not incredible obviously, but they do the job and if tuned right anything can sound decent. but if they're in crap...

yes, i'm sitting directly behind the kick drum and my foot/leg is directly inline with the drum and pedal. my pedal doesnt come with a hoop thickness adjustment, and i dont have a hoop saver...

i do it. it gives me better playability around the kit, i'd always hit rim because i couldnt mount my toms low enough, so i just hung them off the cymbal stands. 12" is sort of small sounding though,

pdp isnt a bad company, i have a beginner Z5 set from them, its better than my friends pearl exports. i don tthink the CXs are their beginner level set, i think its more of their intermediate set.

Well over the next few years, hopefully when i get a job in the summer, i plan to buy a Roland kit to add onto my drums, so i dont have to go blow my wallet/"piggy bank" on new cymbals and such.
