Re: worst way to be dumped by a band

And the drummer won right? If he lost the fight AND his cymbals that's one hell of an insult.

Re: How to achieve 200bpm+ on double bass

I'm curious how people go about figuring this out. Is it simply listening to the song along with a click track and adjusting the tempo till it fits? I've never thought about it.

Re: a new metal drumming book - great stuff

Thanks. Just ordered one. Perfect timing too, as I recently ordered a double bass pedal.

Re: a new metal drumming book - great stuff

Sounds very interesting. Thanks for sharing.

I'm assuming the CD comes with EVERY copy? The amazon page I was looking at didn't list it in the description (there wasn't even one) so I just wanted...

Re: Us older drummers

This brings up a good point.

I've been drumming for a few months, I can hold my own but I'm still largely a beginner. At my age (16) I know a fair few people who want to try and make it big in the...

Audacity. Nothing special but it works.

Re: Recording E-drums

Ah, thanks both of you.

I worked out how to do it, I just need to find either a headphone splitter, or another one of these Male/Male headphone jacks (not sure what they're called), so I can...

Recording E-drums

I'd like to record some audio of my playing, but I'm not quite sure how. I know I could hook the brain up to some speakers and then record what comes out...but that just seems very ametuer and I...

Re: Master of Puppets - Breaking it down

Thanks. So the bass is on the off-beat? That makes it far easier to understand.

ermghoti: I don't count while playing something I understand, then it comes naturally. But when learning something...

Master of Puppets - Breaking it down

I'm still largely a beginner. I can play along to a few songs (basic stuff, like for whom the bell tolls), but I have to say, this song is destroying me.

From what I can tell, the song has a...

Shannon Larkin

Searched around but couldn't find a topic on this guy yet. So here it is, Godsmack's drummer.

Here's a great video of him and Sully Erna (the lead singer, surprisingly he plays quite a few...

Re: Great Video

That was...insane.

Great video, stuff like that makes me wonder if even a block of lead would vibrate if hit.

Re: Total newbie seeking advice

I recently bought the DD505 (300), and it's a fine kit. Like you I'm new to drumming too, and for that price I don't see any reason not to get the DD506 if that's the price you're looking for.

I...

Re: Drum Rolling

That's one of my biggest problems at the moment. I don't know what the basics are to learn, I end up just trying to play things aimlessly.
I'll get a teacher eventually, but first I'll need to find...

Drum Rolling

I've been playing for about a week now, and I've been attempting to get better rolling around the kit, but I'm having trouble with technique.

Once I get to the floor tom, because I hit with my...

Re: Considering a kit

That's probably the best thing to do. I'll forget about an intermediate now and get something cheap to get a feel for it.

One final question then (I hope):...

Re: Considering a kit

Thanks for the link, this could come in very helpful, favourited.

Although this kit comes with no cymbals, it's second hand and relatively cheap, I wouldn't mind getting this...

Re: Considering a kit

Ah, I see.

This is harder than I thought, craigslist had nothing I can afford (cheapest was 1,600), and ebay doesn't seem to have any proper intermediate kits either.

Suppose I'll have to dig...

Re: Considering a kit

Ah, thanks, how much more am I looking at to get a decent intermediate kit (as I said, I'm fine with second hand so long as it's still in decent condition)?

Louis: If I'm being honest I have no...

Considering a kit

Nothing is set in stone as I still need to think about space issues, but I've been looking at a couple of kits and a couple have caught my eye. I appreciate any advice anyone can give me, since I'm...

Re: Drummers who play in bedrooms, garages, attics, and small stages!

The bass drum almost looks like a mini fridge.

Kirisute Gomen intro

I've always had some trouble figuring out what's doing what (on the drums of course) during the KG intro.

*It may be a bit hard to tell on youtube, the album version is much clearer, from about...
