Re: Pro end drum kits: Are they really worth the money?

Probably because the Brooklyn pricing is almost the same as the New Classics. I'm really confused by Gretsch pricing these two lines so closely.

Re: Pro end drum kits: Are they really worth the money?

Nice! I bet that's going to be a guitar you keep for life.

I'm glad I started my guitar project. It's lots of work, but it made me appreciate great, well-made instruments more. To me, pro-level...

Re: Pro end drum kits: Are they really worth the money?

I get where you're coming from, and you're 100% right. It's definitely a labor of love, and a great accomplishment to play an instrument you made. It's just a very difficult craft and something...

Re: Pro end drum kits: Are they really worth the money?

I'm in the process of making my own acoustic OM guitar: cutting, bending, gluing, sanding everything myself. The monetary costs you save you pay in hours.

Re: Does the Gretsch Brooklyn Pricing Make Sense?

Thanks for all the information, guys.

I got back into drumming about a year ago. I took a few percussion classes at a local community college and during that time, I've only worked on snare...

Re: Does the Gretsch Brooklyn Pricing Make Sense?

Gretsch is pretty vague about the USA Custom shell composition. I always assumed they were maple/gumwood after reading various stuff online. Not that it really matters too much; if they sound good,...

Re: Does the Gretsch Brooklyn Pricing Make Sense?

Yes, I have a bit of mixed feelings on which kit to get, but leaning towards the USA Custom for my one instrument for life, passed down to my kids philosophy. Definitely can't go wrong either way. ...

Does the Gretsch Brooklyn Pricing Make Sense?

I was checking pricing for a 3 piece kit in bop sizes on eBay and here's what I came up with:

Brooklyn satin finish - $1771.89
USA Custom satin finish - $2122.99

Both are identical sizes...

Re: Drum Recording...

If you want to go the Pro Tools route, I was checking the Detroit craigslist and they have a few Digidesign 003 and 002r for sale in the $300-600 range. They come with 4 mic/line inputs and an...

Re: Pink drumkit! HotT or not?

I like the champagne sparkle kit. I could see myself having one of those kits as a 2nd kit, or at the least a snare.

Re: Vintage SupraPhonic

Thanks for the advice, guys. I'm leaning towards the keystone-badged snare. I'm going to contact the seller and see if it's still available.
