Altered marching snare,but still a 3 ply maple/poplar/maple.Sound should be similar to a jazz festival..Fifty is a little on the high side,considering the shoe maker alteration.

The easy answer is...some were,some weren't engraved..stamped actually.Slingerland didn't put vent's or badges on toms till the mid 60's.Just snares and bass drums had badges.Radio king of the 50's...
