Shitty bands that don't use a real drummer

hey guys, I just thought I would make a thread about all the terrible bands out there that use drum machines instead of real drummers.
Preferably the worst the programming drums sound the better. ...

Re: Too smart for my friends?

I tend to write write music that my friends can't play, doesn't mean that I can't talk to them about music though

Re: How much air is in between your hi-hats?

about 1/2 of an inch.

I try to keep it as small as possible while still being able to get a click from the pedal and have it not be too sloshy when playing open.

Re: When you let someone hold your sticks, is their first reaction to poke you?

Well you shouldn't have led them on like that if you didn't want to get poked

Re: hihat patterns

Check out some of the earlier Metric stuff (old World Underground or Live it out)

Joules doesn't really do much in odd time signatures I don't think, but the hi-hat patterns are a lot more...

Re: Was Lars' double-bass on the track Dyers Eve a fraud?

I think he made a robot to play the double bass drum for him but before the robot's first gig aliens came to abduct it and use it to play double bass drum in morse code to communicate with human...

Re: Losing that second crash cymbal

I think that a anyone who is experienced can get away with using one crash. I definitely prefer two or more but I have no issue adjusting to one.

What I don't understand is the people who show up...

Re: The Douchiest Drummers of All Time

"Ugh, this guy has a bigger drum kit than me what a douche!"

That was the most stupidity I've ever read in one article, and I only read half of it. Even Fox News does get this dumb.

Re: Shallow rack tom experiment!

Griffin drums are the most horrendously terrible drums ever manufactured.

but, on topic, if I were you, I would probably get a deeper tom and just put it a little farther to the side. But if you...

Re: 8" or 13" toms for add ons?

Definitely go for the 8", it will expand the tonal range a lot, whereas the 13" to me is just kind of a "in-between" tom for the 12" and 14", if that makes sense.

Glad to see your playing the...

Re: In defence of multiple toms.

I have 5 toms, most of the time I only use two of those toms in a fill, because I'm not stupid and think that I have to play all of my toms when I do a fill. The reason I use 5 toms is to broaden my...

Re: People who insist on selling entire (relatively large) set ups on CL.

I sort of feel like the people trying to sell their 8 piece DW kits with 12 top notch cymbals for 20,000$ are there just to brag. They have no intention to sell.

Re: Has someone ever given you the Heimlich maneuver when you were playing?

Strange, once I was playing drums at a show and started choking and my mom came over to perform the Heimlich maneuver on me while I was playing, that ended up pretty well, but then she got caught on...

Re: The missing felt

hah puns

for me it's actually broken drum sticks, I never get around to throwing them away so they're just scattered across the place.

I think we've had similar discussions in the past, but it's always an interesting topic, personally for me as someone who's a fan of electronic music with programed drums as well as someone who makes...

Re: How often do you break/drop your sticks?

break a stick about every other week at this point.

The only time I end up dropping one is if I changed my set up and I'm not totally adjusted yet.

Re: Accessories

obviously yes, they are essential to all drummers.

Look at the old greats like Buddy Rich, do you think that even for a second they played drums without proper stick holders and drumming gloves?

Re: PDP or Sonor???

I absolutely adore my PDP Lx's, they are everything I would ever want in a drumset.

So obviously I'm going to recommend going for the Sonor because Sonor is way better than PDP okay.
