In case your trying to save a few bucks for decent hardware - I think yamaha makes some of the best hardware when it comes to traveling. They are built like tanks IMO.
Really simple great hardware...

A lot of the drummers that "I've" seen play and record; majority of them use yamaha's and ludwigs. I guess that's "the industry standard" but you should know that every manufacturer makes fantastic...

Good looking drums there Bo. Did a fantastic job there. Reminds me a lot like the classic maple ludwig i have. Badges look good and definitely adds some cherries to your kit!

Yeah, great snares!!!! I've seen a couple used in LA but for the price they want, let's just say buying new would be better. Some musicians and their prices man I tell you.

I think 10" is a wee bit too small for me; prefer me a nice deep 7x12. I've played shallower 12" drums but they don't sound the way I want them too. I treat drums the same way I record...

How does is the "low end" on it? I like a real fat POP! not marching pop but a good let's say drum and bass pop. JJ johnson has a really nice pop on his smaller snares.

Most definitely!! Looking at their site they make 3 inserts... Is there any difference between the Axial, SE, DE inserts or are they just for cosmetics?

So I'm really considering getting that Padauk wood snare and assembling it myself.(This will be my first assembled drum TBH) I was on the daville drumworks site and he offers pretty much everything...

you know if the whole custom snare build doesn't work out - i'll surely take this route. My only concern is replacing the hoops and probably the wires and for sure the heads
