Re: Your thoughts on Intermediate Kits

Do you see a lug difference between the birch and maple as far as the toms go?

As far as I can tell, its just the snare that differs between the maple and birch.

Re: Your thoughts on Intermediate Kits

Its actually looking like the 3007(and most) have the same lug count for the toms..for some reason I was thinking there were less on the meridian

Re: Your thoughts on Intermediate Kits

Ha! I hear ya. Well, I am officially down to two kits.

The meridian and the 3007

I am strongly leaning towards the meridian, I just want to be sure the lack of lugs aren't going to screw me.

Re: Your thoughts on Intermediate Kits

I understand about the mounting issue, but on the otherhand the meridians have less lugs. And I'm unsure as to how much that's going to steal from tune-ability.

And if people think the meridians...

Re: Your thoughts on Intermediate Kits

Why do you say that sticks?

I'm confused. In my price range, I figured I'd get the best sound out of the 3007's

You disagree?

(happy new year's everyone!)

Re: Your thoughts on Intermediate Kits

I know, I know. I'm jumping around here.

It had good reviews, but it in the end, without having played one; I'm thinking its probably not the best.

Force 3007 it is! Going to order the...

Re: Your thoughts on Intermediate Kits

The thing is, I know the OC kit probably isn't amazing, but the lug count is there and I love the finish.

Just need someone who actually knows what's up, to tell me what's up :)

Re: Your thoughts on Intermediate Kits

I totally hear ya! The thing is, I really don't mind dropping this money now, as I really need a new kit.

My current Pearl 5-Piece has dents and chunks out of the bearing edges..but after...

Re: Your thoughts on Intermediate Kits

I'm still wildly stuck on a 6-piece, as I played a friends not too long ago and absolutely loved it!

What does everyone think about OC Drums?

Re: Your thoughts on Intermediate Kits

Now I'm a bit lost.

It seems like the Saturns are a bit out of my price range. I feel I have pretty acute hearing, not that of a professional, but enough to differentiate. I can tune guitars to...

Re: Your thoughts on Intermediate Kits

I totally did not see the thing about the lugs.

As sticks mentioned, it doesn't matter as much on the bass. But the toms and snare.

I'll start looking at Saturns as a good option, although the...

Thanks for your input as well, sticks.

So Much good info here, but I do agree, ya'll are seemingly like John Kerry's ;)

I jest! Its just hard to take out, what I want/need from some of these...

Re: Your thoughts on Intermediate Kits

Thanks for the insight Harry!

I love the idea of the vintage kits. I also feel like its going to make my sound THAT much more unique! Problem is, when I was looking through them, a lot of the ones...

Re: Your thoughts on Intermediate Kits

Thanks for dropping in, Bo.

I'm in between the Meridians and the 3007..not sure which way I will go. From my understanding, I feel like the 3007's might have an edge in the sound department. But I...

Re: Your thoughts on Intermediate Kits

Ya, the shipping kind of sucks, but jeez pretty much $700 for an awesome kit! And the more I look at it, the more the finish grows on me.

Additional toms, namely floors, are pretty easy to come by...

I found some 3007's for a good price..not really a fan of the color..but I guess I can't be too picky.

Re: Your thoughts on Intermediate Kits

I love the color, I just want more than a 3pc..and I know buying the additional toms would be real pricey.

Re: Your thoughts on Intermediate Kits

Why's that one so cheap?

I see the same kit everywhere else for 1300-1400?

Thanks!
