I just listened to it, the 'clam' is not perfection, tho perfectly in time. If they were concerned about perfection they could've cut that clam out, but probably didn't want to risk ruining the rest...

I always carry a piece of 1x (1x3x4) in my hardware bags pocket, put it under the applicable throne leg to level out the throne on an uneven stage. You could use beer coasters. Everything else...

John Good state's its for a pleasing intervolic relationship between the drums, which isn't the drums responsibility, its the person who tunes them.
