Re: How can I guage my abilities?

Being upfront with people is a good thing and at least you are even asking the question rather than "knowing" you're great.

I am relatively new to drumming and I can't play any covers. This is...

Re: Should I stay, or should I go?

Right on guys. Thanks for the advice. I'm sticking with the guy. I just don't want to sit around twiddlin my sticks. I need to play!

Re: Should I stay, or should I go?

Maybe, but I don't think I said anything negative towards anyone so if they were to get mad at me for asking advice from other drummers, then oh well.

And I've made the same statements to them....

Re: Should I stay, or should I go?

Yeah, I think that's what I'm gonna do. I will feel more comfortable writing that way.

This dude lives only blocks from me and I just can't think of any good reasons why we haven't rehearsed. Even...

Should I stay, or should I go?

Hey all,

I need some advice from some of you more seasoned musicians.

First, let me say that I am a novice drummer. I have a good quality Gretsch Catalina Maple kit, I'm taking lessons to...

Re: Worst idea in Drumming

OMG! The radial Pro's! I rushed down to GC a few weeks back on a deal on some maple radial pro's. I took one look and and ran away. But grabbed a Gretsch maple set on the way out!

Re: Self taught or teacher needed?

Hey guys, just my 2 cents here...

I'm 38 and while I have at random times owned drums throughout my life, I never progressed passed the basic rock beat. I decided a few weeks ago that I now have...

Re: DDrum?

So likely not Ddrums? I think I'm gonna go with some Gretch Catalina's for my upgrade. I've taken my cheap GP's about as far as they can go sound wise...

DDrum?

Can anyone identify this kit? I saw it on the local CL and wonder exactly what brand and model it could be. I desperately need to upgrade my kit.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Issues with getting the right people

I can dig someone telling me where I can do better as long as they're as receptive to constructive criticism as well.

It's one thing to be emotionally attached to a song but it's a whole 'nother...

Issues with getting the right people

Hey all.

Is it just me or is it actually this hard to find other musicians that want to create music rather than party? Now, don't get me wrong, I like to raise hell just as much as the next...
