Re: Stage Custom Birch or Catalina Maple?

It's going to be your choice if you want Birch or Maple. There are tons of debates on this forums about that topic. They are both similar in quality, its just which sound you are looking for. I'd go...

Pearl Reference Snare

Someone is selling a 5x14 Pearl Reference snare for $300. I just wrote the guy and he can meet this weekend. I have a bunch of snares already including a DW Collectors series. I want this snare badly...

Re: Drummers who've inspired your playing

Mitch Mitchell and Travis Barker are mine. Both drummers inspired me to be creative and attack the drum set instead of staying in the pocket.

Re: Best Advice You've Been Given

Back in 2010 I was extremely nervous about switching jobs. My close friend who has since passed away told me "Just remember, it's the same circus with different clowns". He was correct.

Re: Got my first session gig tonight! Nervous as hell...

These guys hit it on the head (no pun intended). No one in the crowd hears your mistakes, if you make one just keep going and immediately erase it from your mind. Keeping time is the most important...

Re: How O.C.D. are you guys with your drums?

I am SOOO OCD with my drums! My Saturns never leave the house out of fear of being scratched. My Orion Orbiters is my gig kit, which has a few scrapes and it drives me crazy. My top snares and...

Re: Looking for a good intermediate kit for about $600

You can't go wrong with Mapex. Their intermediate kits have been and still are solid. The Mars series is a great deal. I would buy them without hesitation. I have two Mapex kits and love them both.

Re: Drum Lessons

I am 100% self taught and this is what I always say..I'm good enough to impress non drummers, not good enough to impress a real drummer (like Bermuda). I wish more than anything I took lessons as a...

Re: Has anyone or famous drummers recorded with these crap drums?

This guy is a troll because he came back to edit his post and act like he didn't understand that Guru Drums sarcasm. He could have defended his original post but chose to attempt to throw gas on a...

I don't think anyone can say nay to a set of Renowns, they are a great kit.

Re: Have you ever quit a band that you wanted to rejoin later?

Did you leave on bad terms? Do you still talk to anyone in the band where you could sort of see if they want you back? Maybe you can just ask to jam and then if it goes well you can bring up the...

Re: Is *not* being told you played a great gig as good/better than being complimented?

Good post. I am the type of person who loves compliments..maybe I'm an ego maniac! However most people always compliment the singers and guitarists first and the drummers last. Don't take it...

Re: Seeking Metal Drummer with mics

I might be wrong, but this seems like a clever ploy to receive Facebook 'likes' for their songs.

Re: Pdp Concept Maple or Pearl Export

The above answer should answer your question. If it's just about drums the PDP's blow exports away. If you need hardware and some low budget cymbals then I guess you might consider Exports if you...

Re: Keeping time when no one else is...

I have experienced this more times than I can count. It's amazing how some guitarists have an amazing sense of rhythm and others are horrible. As stated, a bass player is often a great remedy for...
