How to: Practice effectively

Something I have been struggling with a lot when I was trying to get better is pretty much the "goldmine" on how to do it.
I even got asked recently when I was breaking down my stuff from the...

admin needed

Forgive my naive browsing through forums knowledge, but if there's any admin here there's a spam thread (you'll recognize it) and no way to report it.
Please do what you have to do lol.

Re: What is the most unintelligible instruction given to you by a music director?

"put moongel on the cymbals"
"build up boom boom"
"why are there no cues? I can't direct without the cues" (ableton backingtracks)

Re: Ever have a drumming dream?

I once dreamed I was going to meet the Pink Floyd. Another time that I was talking to Portnoy. The last one I remember was that I was drumming and everything felt so heavy and slow... like when you...

Restoring an old Royal Snare

I saw this snare online and while I did consider it buying it, passed on. Next thing I know, my partner comes to say me before going to the rehearsal we will go pick it up (!) very thankful!

I...

I wonder where I can...

Re: How did you start getting "loose" on difficult fills?

Have been through that too, especially when I was back from my arm injury. For some reason I don't know, I started drumming very tensioned. My new teacher took me back to basics and started working...

Re: How did you start getting "loose" on difficult fills?

While I defenitively agree with you, stress can literally kill. It almost did to me (no I am NOT JOKING, have some videos about that in my vlog).

Re: How did you start getting "loose" on difficult fills?

yes agree! That's how I started with fills too. I sucked at it, but when my teacher answered me that I should practice more and that it will come alone, the first thing he did was to write me like 4...

Re: How did you start getting "loose" on difficult fills?

defenitively agree. If I want to challenge my creativity on fills, I normally start taking away things from the kit, limiting my options or just start a groove and start experimenting with different...

How did you start getting "loose" on difficult fills?

I'm just wondering out of curiosity. For me, was the understanding of rudiments as well as displacement + subdivision. Have a lot to still develop but would like to know how did you guys do it.
