Is Ringo a good drummer?

I think he is. What makes him great is his creativity. Did it all come from him? From what I've heard, he wasn't even the best drummer in the Beatles.

Just kidding, this forum is so dull and...

Re: Methods for feeling or visualizing time?

I certainly don't visualize time. I guess I feel the time in my head somewhere between there and my kick pedal. I suppose the best way to describe it would be to say that I always know where the ones...

Re: Being offered a position you don't really want, but could be an experience?

That band is pretty awful. No guitar solo? C'mon, where's the "wow"?
I hate the Human Race too, but that doesn't mean I have to play angry music to complain about it. Haha! :)

A lot of kids eat...

Re: Gear fail - handled beautifully :)

I have a problem with my toes cramping up sometimes during a song.

Body fail, not gear. It's not easy holding the beat steady while my toes are cramping up.

Re: Why does my right hand get so fatigued?

Do lots of yard work and construction projects. Chop some wood while you're at it.

No, I really don't know. Try putting a weight on a rope and tie the other end to a straight stick, like barbell...

Re: Andy inspired me to demo some of my snare drums.

Nice clinic. Thanks for sharing. That Koa/Cherry 3-ply sounds great.

Re: What's your latest purchase?

I bought myself a birthday present. A Paiste 18" Signature Prototype. Great crash for a little cash.

Re: Gear fail - handled beautifully :)

I'm always impressed when people can do random stuff with one hand while keeping a perfect beat with the other.

Re: RUSH retirement rumor

What he said on the Taking Center Stage video was that he will retire when he feels that he can't play the parts exactly as he originally arranged them. Maybe Tom Sawyer has gotten the best of him.

Re: Other songs that sound like other songs

How about Green Day's Basket Case and Pachebel's Canon in D? Strikingly similar chord progression.

Oh, I noticed that one right away. Total rip-off.

I think that they are two completely...

Re: RUSH retirement rumor

I've only seen them once at the Pacific Amphitheater when they did their Presto tour, but I'm glad I did. It was awesome and Peart's drum solo knocked my socks off.

So, who can blame anyone for...

Re: If you were sitting behind my kit.

I have to say, now that I've had a 19 inch and 20 inch crash, I'll never be without one. In fact, if I was to bring just one crash to a gig, which I have done, it would be the 19 or 20.

Re: Why the hate? (Lars Ulrich)

Just look at the writing credits on the songs and you'll see how important and replaceable Ulrich is to that band. He is heavily involved in the writing too, for what it's worth.

Re: If you were sitting behind my kit.

If it were me, I'd say get that 20 inch crash, and make it medium thin. So, maybe a K or K Custom.

Re: Just got home from a gig and I'm just so bummed

I can see your point, but when my drum set costs over 3,000, then I might have to think twice about using the kit at shows, but that's just me.

Anyway, that sucks if it's your own band member who...

Re: Just got home from a gig and I'm just so bummed

So the moral to the story, if you have a nice kit, unless you're playing the Lincoln Center, you're best to leave it at home and have a gig kit that sounds good.
