Re: Bought wrong snare head!

As said above, put it on your snare a try it out. You may like it. Coated snare batter heads are only necessary when using brushes. Peace and goodwill.

Re: Forum Views Drum Gear vs. Forum Views Drum Technique..

I already know how to play drums, so I would rather discuss gear than technique. Having said that, I certainly am not all that on drums. Peace and goodwill.

Re: Does anyone actually do gigs with large bass drums any more?

Similar to Bo, I had an 18" bass drum for several years. I used it to play blues and classic rock. We play a lot outside, and if it was not miced, it sounded puny. Now both of my bass drums are...

Re: What's your favorite drum key? Serious!

I really do not care too much about drum keys as long as they work. I suppose my best one is the Evans key with the nub on top. Peace and goodwill.

Re: 24x14 vs 22x16 - Can't Decide!

My favorite bass drum size is 22x16, but what I have is two sets with 22x18. Peace and goodwill.

Re: Less is more!

I used to have a Gretsch Catalina Club Jazz kit with 18/12/14/snare. I also had a 22x18 bass drum I could use with the same toms. At nearly every gig, I took the bigger bass drum. So after a...

Re: what to people mean by "cheap" drums?

I am using this kit Saturday at our gig. It is an Export bass drum,a Mapex Venus 10" tom, a WFL 14" tom, and a Mapex 13" MPX snare. We are playing outside in the afternoon. I am not risking my...

Re: Ok Iím a fan of Mike Portnoy

I have been a fan of Mike Portnoy for many years. Prog is one of the many genres of music I love. I really like all of Neal Morse's music and Transatlantic. I have many discs (CD's and DVD's) of...

Re: Anyone ever custom ordered a kit?

Back in the 80's when I bought my Corder set, it was custom made for me. I played that set for about twenty years. It was 22x14, 16x16, and 13x9. I already had a 14x8 Corder snare. Peace and...

Re: Beginner needs some advice

I would go for the Mapex Armory kit. Both are good kits, but the small price difference makes the Armory set a better deal. It will probably be a bit more durable. Peace and goodwill.
