i think you will be pleasantly shocked by the outcome... i know i was

if the hoop was "put out" from heavy torque, it can be "put back in" from the same amount of torque, just in the opposite...

I just used that "bend over piece of wood" method by using a flat piece 2x10

I used screws to clamp the "good" section to the lumber, then screwed THAT board to two others, making a ledge
