Re: UK Record Deal/comparisons

Re: UK Record Deal/comparisons

Would that still be the case if it was 20% of every subsequent album as well though, and every other future penny earned except through publishing? For no further involvement or investment, and...

Re: UK Record Deal/comparisons

Interesting figures, that's part of the issue for me at the moment, I don't have the comparison figures for a record company. That said, the issue with this investment is that for a one time...

Re: PEAVY builds drums?

Yeah, bobby rock had some insane publicity photos with an enormous peavey radial kit if I remember rightly.

A music college I used to work for had 3 peavey radial kits (did they make any others)...

Re: UK Record Deal/comparisons

Drumeatdrum, some excellent points and exactly why I posted this.

I do have a small slice of publishing, we agreed a deal on that when the band formed as we're aware of the potential of that. :)

Re: UK Record Deal/comparisons

That's pretty mch my thought. The argument is (which I can understand) that they're taking amassive punt on us, and so if we do get anywhere it'll be largely down to the initial investment. I'm...

Re: Justin Bieber's Drumming...

Let me firstly say that I cannot stand Justin Bieber, and obvious he's at best a mediocre beginner drummer.

However, do bear in mind that he probably doesn't choose to play drums all the time - he...

UK Record Deal/comparisons

Hey,

I'm after a bit of advice, in particular from anyone who's been/is in a band with a record deal (preferably major), or any particular knowledge in this field. If anyone has an opinion but...

Re: head polish - especially after using drum dial

that's quite interesting, thanks for the explanation.

It's not something I'd go for I don't think, not particularly because I think it's a waste, but more because I don't find heads get...

Re: Music Reading

I'm with fourstringdrums. I can read, and I do read when I do theatre gigs and stuff. What I find tricky is sight reading after I've not had to for a while, I can go a year at a time without seeing...

Re: head polish - especially after using drum dial

well if you don;t have any cash then I'd imagine buying an electronic kit probably isn't an option either, but if it is then yeah, that'll be quieter.

In answer to the original question, no...

Re: THE DRUMMING DICTIONARY.

incidentally, that rhythm (and commonly that voicing, but it can be any) is also know in the UK as 'Flats In Dagenham' (pronounced: DAG-UN-EM for anyone who isn't sure).

And on a related note, a...

Re: a new snare for me x)

Don't buy a snare with massive vents in it - or atleast don't buy an expensive snare with big vents in it, - you're paying for a beautiful shell whose properties are all but lost because of the...

The only one I've played at a gig is the Taye seen above in mind_drummer's post. Don't get it - way too shallow and quiet - particularly bass drum.

It was fully miked up, but was just too small...

Re: DW kick 16" or 18" deep ?

What diameter?
