And more rudiments lol. Start practicing slowly and get up to speed. It can take a while to develop speed and that is not the only thing you require as a drummer... You also need control, endurance...

Don't count my reply as reliable since I'm a beginner, but China cymbals are definitely a must for every kit, especially in metal drumming, I hear them a lot there. IMO you're not doing anything...
